Hi! Just installed Blade of Destiny for the first time and took my time customizing an advanced party. The thing I noticed is that when I look in the character screen in-game their attack and parry values are less than in the character generator?
As an example, my warrior was made with 13 in CR, AG, IN, ST and with the deity Rondra which adds +1 to swords. This and an increase in sword skill gave base AT/PA 8, and Skill Value of 8 in swords. I increased AT to 15 and PA to 9. However, ingame the statistics say AT14 PA8, and current when wielding sword is 13/7?? I can find no explanation in the manual for this decrease, and was wondering what's up and what the explanation might be? This is a general observation of all my characters.

It's normal. If you look at the weapon statistics in the cluebook, you'll see that swords give a penalty of -1/-1, meaning that both your attack and parry value are reduced by 1 when equipping a sword.
OK, so I had a look in the clue book of ROA 1 - Blade of Destiny, and found that different weapons modify AT/PA, but however, Sword has 0/0 in modification. And also, that does not explain the drop from 15/9 to 14/8 in basic stats, not the "current", but what is listed as basic in the character sheet.
Kind of miffed here.
OK, nvm, thank you, I found the answer. Leather Harness and other such armor also decrease all weapon skills.
Thank you very much for the help =)

Also your race and background and stuff modify your stats as far as I remember.
