I have a Dwarf and when I equip him with weapons his AT and PA go down, those values are higher when he is unarmed. I assumed that higher values are better but that doesn't make sense. I've read through the manual a few times but I haven't found answers.
Sorry if this is a really dumb question.

You've probably more Skill Values (SV) in unarmed than in the chosen weapon.
Afaik SV for the chosen weapon is added to Base AT/PA.

Higher values are better, as you have to roll the same or below to be successful with your attack or parry (using a 20 sided dice). The damage of a successful hit is mostly determined by the weapon of the attacker and the armor of the defender.
