Hello guys

I'm currently stucked at entering Tiefhusen. When I try to enter the City I get a message to hit CTRL+F4 (see Screenshot).

Even when hitting that combo AND the ENTER-Key nothing happens. The message just keeps coming up. What Am I'm doing wrong? I'm running it on OSX - German Version.

Few things: Are your function keys set as function keys & not media buttons, have you tried <COMMAND>+<F4>, Enable access for assistive devices or send in a support ticket.

Yes the keys are set as function keys (I had to enable it in the OSX preferences). But I'm still not able to bypass that dialog-screen. No combination works at the moment. I tried the following:
CTRL+F4 and ENTER
CTRL+F4 and click with the mouse on the message
CMD+F4 and ENTER
CMD+F4 and click with the mouse on the message
FN+CTRL+F4 and ENTER
FN+CTRL+F4 and click with the mouse on the message
FN+CMD+F4 and ENTER
FN+CMD+F4 and click with the mouse on the message

<CMD>+<SHIFT>+<RIGHT> or <LEFT>?

That key-combo (for drives inspector) does nothing. Do you know how I can get the drives inspector loaded like seen in the link you gave me? I don't see such a small GUI-Interface that displays the different drives.

Anyway, I also opened up a support ticket.

Boxer standalone doesn't have the UI bits that the full version does. If you want you could try running it in Boxer 1.3.2:
Each game app has a gamebox inside, so if you prefer you can just run the gamebox in Boxer 1.3.2 instead. However, Boxer 1.3.2 does not utilise the new launch option structure, nor does it support write shadowing: your game state will not be consistent between Boxer and the game app, and any changes you make in Boxer will be saved permanently into the app.
Not sure if it works seamlessly with all standalone gameboxes though.

Did support ever give you a workaround? I had a chance to play around with this today in full Boxer. Just copying the .boxer doesn't allow switching CDs, or seeing them, as Boxer's bin/cue support is limited. I did get it to work by opening the .boxer and moving the two gog/inst pairs & the MUSIC folder to the top folder (same level as "C Realms of Arkania 2.harddisk"). Then create two new folders: "D gamea.cdmedia" and "D gameb.cdmedia", move the gog/inst pairs to their respective folders, move the .ogg tracks for CD1 directly into "D gamea.cdmedia", no sub-folders, same for CD2 with the other folder, rename each inst to exactly tracks.cue, edit each tracks.cue doing a find/replace removing the sub-folders from the paths to the .oggs. Finally, backup then edit "C Realms of Arkania 2.harddisk\bxlaunch.bat" to remove the imgmount line. Boxer will now see both CDs and allow you to switch between them.

I did receive feedback from support but they just said that this issue only occurs with the german version running on OSX. But they offered me to give my money back.

Anway, I'll definitely going to try your workaround out! Hopefully it will solve my problem. I'll report back!

And how you get the game from the gog-boxer to the full-boxer? Just copy the "Reals Of Arkania 2.boxer" from the gog-boxer and into the e.g. "Sample Games"-folder of the full-boxer? Or are you using the import-function of the full-boxer?

Yes, I manually copied "Reals Of Arkania 2.boxer" to "~/DOS Games" folder. Not sure if I tried the import-function for the full .app.

Hey Gydion, I just wanted to let you know that everything is working now. I'm now able to enter Tiefhusen (I had to restart the game from the beginning, since my save-games did not get transferred). Anyway, the CD-Change works now! Many many thanks again for your great help and support!!!

Have to go now... some big adventures are waiting for me! ;-)

It should be simple to transfer your saves over if you still want to. I hadn't thought about it, but Boxer would see the gameboxes differently. Saves are located at ~/Library/Application Support/Boxer/Gamebox States. You will need to Show package contents on the Current.boxerstate files, and browse to the correct folder, C Realms of Arkania 2.harddisk\GAMES\, to find the saves (.GAM). Then copy them to the other .boxerstate.
