Hey guys, i am curious.
I was sure, that i chose "advanced" and not "beginner" at the start of the game.
But one of my chars now got a level up and i could only improve his main attribute and lower one of his secondary ones.
Wasn't able to do anything in regards to swimming, fighting and all that stuff even though i chose manual level up when asked.
And i also couldn't find the option to look at those stats while not leveling up aswell.

So is that something GoG-related or did i maybe click on "beginner" at the start by accident? And is there a way to change that afterwards?

Well, that means game was in Beginner mode.

Every time you run the game you can choose desired game mode.

well, for some reason i can't.
i just played through blade of destiny and as you said, the game always asked, what my preferred mode was. but with star trail this isn't the case.
it asked once after starting for the first time and i was kinda sure i clicked advanced, but since then, it didn't ask again.

so i thought, i may be missing something but it seems like there's a problem with my game, not me.

i'll just reinstall the game, maybe that fixes my problem.

EDIT:
Well reinstalling fixed one thing. I was asked again if i want to play in advanced or beginner mode.
However, it didn't fix my problem. I simply can't see my skills even when i click on advanced mode. But the problem seems to be, that i imported characters from Blade of Destiny.
When i use the premade characters from Star Trail, i can see the skills.
But i'm 100% sure that i used advanced mode in Blade of Destiny... what can i do now? I really want to use my imported characters.

Seems like this is common issue for imported party - take a look here for a possible solution https://www.gog.com/forum/realms_of_arkania_series/advanced_mode_does_not_work_in_star_trail_with_imported_party
