Considering GOG's drm free philosophy, does Rayman require ubisoft's Uplay to play?

No. Why would GOG sell a game DRM-free if they wanted you to install their competitor's product ? That's just backward.

Happens. Bought a game from Gamestop Online; needed the Steam Client. Bought an Ubisoft game on Steam and I needed uplay.

But the chance to play Rayman without uplay increases my desire to buy this game from gog. Uplay is a royal pain.
