Hi, all.
I didn't want ot bump an old topic with this 'possible' solution, so here we are...
This works for me, after extensive testing and many different attempts. Hopefully it will work for others too, but I'm not 100% sure.
Besides the "dosboxRayman.conf" edits beiow, I also altered the setting in "AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition", choosing 'Full Panel' for 'Scaling Mode'.
"dosboxRayman.conf" edits:
fullscreen=true
fulldouble=true
fullresolution=1440x900
windowresolution=1280x720
output=DDraw
autolock=true
sensitivity=100
waitonerror=true
priority=higher,normal
mapperfile=mapper-0.74-2.map
usescancodes=true
language=
machine=svga_s3
captures=capture
memsize=16
frameskip=0
aspect=false
scaler=normal2x
Those are my settings (only the sections I needed to alter) with my desktop resolution set at 1600x900 (not sure if that makes a difference though) and after a LONG process of testing MANY settings, it finally works in 'stretched' widescreen.
Hope it helps those who want their game to fill the screen :-).
