First time I launched Rayman Forever, things worked OK, I discovered that setting the frequency to MAX was like running a DOS 3.x game on my Celeron 333. So I set the frequency to 60, and it seemed to work, the music didn't stutter.

Second time running it, no such luck. Every time I try to set it to 60, and I think it has stuck, the music smooths out, and then it immediately jumps to 50, at which point the music stutters again and the gameplay is really slow.

What's the trick to it? How long do I wait when I've selected 60 before I move down to exit the settings pane? Do I have to select and then hit enter?

I had similar problems, as well as gamepad calibration sometimes getting out of whack.

Two things seemed to fix it for me, editing the DOSBox conf file for the game:

- setting the cycles to auto (fixed audio stuttering, but gamespeed kept changing during the game, and gamepad calibration seemed to get lost sometimes)

- setting the game to run in a window instead of full screen (I use 3x zoom). This fixed the varying gamespeed and the calibration problems.

I didn't look further how to fix it.
