Hi,
I bought Rayman 3 but I'm not able to play it on my notebook with an Intel GMA4500HD. The game starts but surface, particles and some other effects are missing.

As well there are minor graphical glitches such as texture flickering on my desktop with a NVIDIA 480GTX but the game isn't unplayable.

Both computers run on Windows 7 x64. Does anyone have any ideas on this?

Greetings
Martin

Have no advice but I too am having rendering issues on an Intel based GPU. Not a huge surprise but still sad. Vista on that system. May try on another xp system later.
I have Intel GMA965 chip and it ran the original 3CD version with no issues at all...so sad about this purchase...even sadder about no patch for this and no possibility of refund. Just seems like money gone to waste...GOG.com loosing reputation with this for sure :-(
Intel video chips have always had issues. They are definitely no nvidia or ati. In the future if you by a pc/laptop with embedded graphics , make sure it has a better video chip. Go to Intel.com and see if there is a driver update. ;)

All PC games are riddled with all manor of issues, and intel graphic chips are notoriously lousy. It may be unfortunate that this game is having issues for a few people (including me) but I don't know that it is a "sure" thing that it damages the GOG brand. Especially when such issues are typically driver/developer related and have little to nothing to do with the distribution house.

Though in GOG's case it is not beyond reason that something could be different in the GOG release(they sometimes are-generally for the better) If that is the case Give it more than a few days for a fix to appear.

not really sure about the driver/dveloper related issues here...as i already said...the actual CD version of the very same game worked fine with the same PC specs, on the same Win version with the same drivers installed. Seems like this GOG.com re-packaging system has some bugs from time-to-time, which however don't seem to go away. At least there could be this backout option of "returning a purchased download" like they do it on the Android App Market. Such faulty releases are practically useless and who knows which next "great" low-priced release will bring such trouble again? Really not happy abou this :-(

In the original manual under supported graphics cards, it specifically states that integrated Intel chips are NOT supported.

This I already know. Any 3D application I have ever seen always says they don't support Intel graphic chips.

Too bad GOG didn't state this in their own section of the Game specs...how are people to know about the original manual if they don't have the original release?
Anyway...despite that, the CD version works without issues even with integrated Intel chips. There should be a patch for this release, otherwise this is a rip-off-like approach from GOG side towards their customers.
In the Intel Graphics control panel... Switching Bit Depth Buffer from 24 to 16 may solve the problem....
Wish I'd seen this topic before purchase - also seeing the same issue on Intel 4500mhd.

I don't see that option anywhere.

Edit: SUCCESS! In the Intel control panel, enable Software Vertex Processing - game looks great now!

I can also report that the game doesn't run properly using Intel HD4500 Graphics...

...But the fix which kalirion provided above worked perfectly for me too! Thanks a lot, I have added this piece of info to the gogwiki - hopefully this will become useful for other users in the future.
