By editing the "ubi.ini" file in the main installation directory, I was able to get it 1600x1200 hight - but only in 16 bit resolution. When I tried 32 bit resolution, the game falls back to 1024x768.

It seems that the game engine does not support 1600x1200 32 bit. Frankly, if you think the game still looks good on 16 bit or that there aren't any noticeable differences, I think you should stick to it :)

But if you want to play with 32 bit color, you should use the configuration utility that is in the directory you installed the game and choose the highest resolution that it allows you to choose.

GXSetup crashes when I start it ... so, I'm glad that there is a n *.ini that can be changed with a simple text editor.

Hmmm... OK, anyways :)

By the way, the highest resolution I can use is 1440x900. Maybe you could try it too.

Best regards!
I don't think the configuration utility lets you run the game in 32 bit color either. I selected 1920x1080 with the config utility, and ingame I still have 16 bit colors. Doesn't really bother me though, I think the game looks great as it is.
It gets a bit obvious it's running in 16-bit colour mode when you're in dark areas but aside from that it's OK.
I'm glad I can play it on my Windows 7 64-bit now anyway. XD
Does the game properly support widescreen?

Thinking about getting it for my HP Mini, it's 1366x768. (Nvidia Ion for the 3D)

Changing that setting (by editing ubi.ini directly or using GXSetup) does nothing at all for me - the game starts up in one of the three resolutions you can choose in-game (the max is 1024x768).

It stretches. But its a cartoony game, so stretching can be considered a "different style."

Myself, I'm playing it at 1280x960 on my 1080p monitor to keep the aspect ratio. (this monitor doesn't support 1440x1080 manually, and forcing it through drivers is a pain)

Haven't tried GXSetup, but ubi.ini definitely worked for me. 32 bit doesn't seem to be supported, but "1280 x 960 x 16" works like a charm.

I got it to work, but only when I run the game as Admin.

Yup, that was it, also works with Rayman 3 :)
"1600 x 1200 x 16" didn't work (I also tried setting via "GXSetup.exe"), "1280 x 1024 x 16" does. 1920 x 1080 monitor.
