I got pretty far on getting Rayman 2 to run on my Ubuntu HTPC... but have two problems - 1) sound (Not sure if I can send wine audio over HDMI) and 2) Lums are invisible (This is an old wine bug from 2009, apparently).

I got the resolution to work by adjusting the ubi.ini file, and there are also some other parameters in the file that I wonder might help.

Mine looks like this:
[Rayman2]
GLI_DllFile=GliDX6
GLI_Dll=DirectX6
GLIDriver=display
GLI_Device=Direct3D HAL
GLI_Mode=1 - 1920 x 1080 x 16
Language=English
ParticuleRate=High

What other options are there for GLI_Device? Maybe I can try that and see if it works.

I just upgraded my Ubuntu to the latest 12.04 version and it works! The lums are visible, both with the OSS and the proprietary Nvidia driver. I have no sound at the moment, but I don't think I ever figured that one out in the first place. No problem, I think I can get that going.

As Rayman would say, YAHOOOOO!
