So I have this cheap ps2 knockoff gamepad. The game recognizes it but the buttom mapping is all screwy. I used joy2key, spend a lot of time checking the controls online and the manual and setting them.
Then when i'm ready to start playing it's all screwy, the game uses both my joy2key settings and the shitty default button mapping it had from before so now i have multiple actions assigned to each buttons.
Is there any way to disable the gamepad in this game so it won't recognize it?

A lot of people have had this problem, me included, and I don't think there's been a really good solution to it yet. Some people say the default key mapping for the Xbox 360 controller is good, so you might want to try one of those.

Personally, I unplugged/replugged my controller (an N64 controller via USB) and skipped calibrating it. The game couldn't detect it (though I could see it in Windows 7), and this allowed me to map keyboard keys to the controller buttons (using Xpadder). Unfortunately, I couldn't use the analogue stick properly as I think it needs to be calibrated and detected in the game in order to be assigned analogue input.

But apart from having to move using digital input rather than analogue, it worked out really well and I finished the game 100% yesterday :)

thanks, it's kind of a pain to do it every time but at least it works.
You're welcome! But I only unplugged/replugged it once/ignored calibrating it in Windows 7, since then I haven't had to unplug/replug it again.

Hope it works out!
