For those of you who can't seem to change the resolution beyond 1024x768, check the configurator of the game (inside the game's folder), there you can change the resolution to whatever you want, I have it at 1440x900 and so far, it has worked like a charm.
Also, for extra eye candy, you can force a couple of things using the Nvidia Control Panel (and it's equivalent for ATI / AMD users), I have forced antialiasing to x4, anisotropic filter to 8x (for nicer textures) and as far as I've seen, it's not necessary to force or activate the Vsync, as it seems to be locked to either 30 fps or 60 fps (depending on you monitor refresh rate).
