So I am at The Iron Mountains level in Rayman 2, and mostly after the Hot Air Balloon scene, this Pirate Head that says CD MISSING appears and won't go away...

I've tried the following things:
Remove Pirate Head DRM option in Rayman Control Panel
Different no cd patches
Trying running the game in different compatibility modes.
Uninstall and reinstall
Mounting a CD

I honestly don't know what to do, it seems like one of these things works for some, but not for me...

I'm running Windows 10 64bit, and the game has worked absolutely flawless until now...

My last thought:
That image must be somewhere in the Rayman folder, right?
So shouldn't it be a way to delete it somehow?

Copy this to DATA folder:

And let us know if it fixed your issue.
Does it also happen in Echoing Caves?

Removing pirate head texture in the game is pointless since when the game goes into pirated mode, it prevents you from further progressing in the game by changing its level elements.

Do you use GOG version?
It should be free of the issue.

Do you use any language pack copied manually into the game files? It might be a culprit too in some cases.

In the very end you can try out using texture sync feature in RCP, but I doubt it will help.

Od course you can also use a cheat "gothere" written in ESC menu during the game, and just pick another level.

Hello there and thank you so much for your answer!
I solved the issue by actually using the cheat "gothere", seemed much easier than to keep struggling with this level :)

The pirate head thing only happened to me on the Iron Mountains level!
I'm having the same issue on Linux using Wine. Skipping the level isn't really an acceptable workaround. I don't think GOG should be selling games that contain DRM as "DRM-free", regardless of what conditions have to be met to trigger it.

As for me I'm gonna switch to emulating the PS2 version.
