For some reason, whenever I boot up the game and start, the speed is ridiculously high. This is with unaltered settings. However, whenever I go into the graphics menu, simply accessing the graphics menu returns the game to normal speed without any settings being tweaked?

Any ideas why?

Also the loading screens make my speakers emit a crackling / popping noise. They seem to not affect the game and are only present at the load screens, but they are rather annoying. haha

This happens to me too, but the way I fix it is by pushing Ctrl + 11 a couple of times in-game (and Ctrl + 12 to speed it back up)

Sorry, I realize I meant to say Ctrl+F11 and Ctrl+F12. Obviously.

Go to the graphics details options and make sure the frequency is not set to "max" (it shold be "60" or "50").
