I thought this would be the best place to ask for help, since it's about the same series.

My physical copy of Rogue Spear has a "mod" folder, does this mean it comes packed with Urban Operations?

Can someone tell me, how can I check what my Rogue Spear version is? I also have a physical copy of Black Thorn, do I have to patch Rogue Spear before installing Black Thorn?

Thanks for the help

The version number of Rogue Spear will be shown in the bottom left corner on the main menu.

For Rogue Spear this will likely be 2.05 I believe for an up to date version. There was a special white cd version sold in a compilation re-release which I think said said 2.06(I have this version) but other than copy protection and a new Ubisoft logo I have no clue what if anything changed, maybe nothing(It certainly has 0 compatibility issues with the original version patched).

Urban Operations I believe will be a separate executable. I believe a fully patched version of Urban Operations will say 2.52 in the bottom left corner. If you have Urban Ops I believe you will see 2 folders in the mods folder, one I think says Classic Missions(It's been a while) and the other for Urban Operations.

I think Covert Operations will have further folders in the Mod folder but I don't know what they are off the top of my head. I think it will also be 2.52 but I'm not sure on that either.

I think no matter which version you have there is a mod folder but I'm not positive about that in the original. I know the options menu had a mod activation screen in later(I.E. Urban Ops( but I'm not sure about in regular but it may.

Black Thorn was a standalone expansion that didn't require any other game in the series to run(Although I think it could be run as mod in Urban Operatiions) If they were all installed to the same folder. I believe it would show version 2.60 in the corner for a fully up to date version of Black Thorn when launched from the Black Thorn executable.

All I've stated is just off the top of my head and there may be inaccuracies. But hope this helps.

Ideally I think if I were to install from scratch the order would be

Rogue Spear
2.05 patch
Urban Operations
Any Urban Operations patch
Covert Ops Essentials
Covert Ops Patches(If there are any)
Black Thorn
Black Thorn Patch

I don't know if that would be the correct order of not but it'd be the order I would try first.

Thanks for the help. Do you recommend any mods?

DTD Expert Handgun mod, It's just a bunch of new handgun pics, stats and sounds(this game didn't have weapon models).

As far as for more detailed mods I'd find maps . . . that are a ton of them. There's even 2 that fully recreate all of the maps, using the classics already included and some new ones made by fans, of both Rainbow Six and Eagle Watch. Basically you'd get Rogue Spear physics and Movement on them so run while crouch. But the links on the site I know that had them are dead.

That's probably going to be where you will find the most trouble, the game is old so finding all the old mods/maps I knew about will probably take a google search or two and then you have to hope the links aren't dead.

There's always ModDB but their selection is limited:

Thanks, already downloaded the classic mods.

Does anyone still Rogue Spear (and add-ons) in coop mode? If so how do you do it?
