So I am running 32-bit Windows XP on a virtual machine, the parent OS is Win7 x64. The GPU I'm running is AMD 6670.
I have both the original CD and the GOG copy, both have graphical problems when I run them. I originally also had a problem with mouse sensitivity that I fixed by editing it in regedit.
Here's a comparison picture of a video of Rainbow Six I found on youtube to my installed copy that I am running from the CD. There is a clear difference in quality, I don't see any graphics option in the game to change this. I've almost noticed that the mouse cursor often drags and leaves behind clipped sprites, like the lagging-dragged mouse motion. There is also flashes of random lines during loading screens. I've uploaded a short demonstration on youtube.

Does anybody know a way to resolve this? I'd appreciate a solution for the gfx.

Might be worth running the game in compatibility mode for Windows 98 and also in 640x480 resolution (or whatever that option is).
I have the same issue and have had no luck trying the previously mentioned fixes
Hey, I made this post. The solution for me was to use DXWND from this thread. www.gog.com/forum/rainbow_six_tom_clancys/amdati_cat_134_solution

Hey there, this is a late response, but I've had the exact same graphical issues, and I may have just found a solution. Now, I'm running an NVidia card, which may make things different, but your screenshots are identical to what I had.

The issue has to do with hardware acceleration. What you'll need to download is the DirectXSDK. When you install it, open the DirectX control panel, go to Direct Draw, and change the Hardware Acceleration box.

Hope this helps!
