I turned on the 'Force software' setting to try and fix the issue I had with invisible hostages/terrorists but now I can't even enter the game with out it crashing, re-install didn't work. I tried finding the setting to manual change it in the files, couldn't find it though.

Overall feel kind of cheated... since I paid $10 for a game that is littered with bugs and shouldn't have even been released on GoG, I feel. Can anyone suggest how I can at least get the game to turn on?

Feel disappointed since now I can't really trust to buy another game on GoG. :(

Have you tried fooling with the compatibility settings? Also, if you're using a dedicated video card, you may want to try using the one from your motherboard... just an idea.
