Hi,

I just bought Rainbow Six and encounter the following problem.

When I start the game, my screens goes black for a very very short time and then it instantly crashes (see screenshot).
Can anyone help me?

I tried:

running in compatibility mode, as admin etc
installing the latest directx

I'm having the same issue. It goes to a black screen and changes the mouse cursor, but crashes as soon as I click.

I tried running in compat, as admin, and in 256 color mode.

That's exactly what happens to me as well; not sure what to do. Might just cut my losses and get a refund, and buy Rainbow Six 3 Gold on Steam for $9.99

Had this issue, and after some digging found a workaround usind DXwnd, from this thread:

Game still crashed occasionally (typically the first time I try to launch into the action), but it's not gamebreaking.

Oh, and be sure to restart your machine after install. That was one more hurdle I almost missed.

Have you tried dgVoodoo? The game run fine after that on my Windows 7 :)

everyone disable fullscreen optimizations and run the game in X640 up the rez IN GAME
