I know there is some capability issues since this game is as old as it is, but even after installing the fan patch I'm having some framerate problems. At only average level graphics settings the game struggles to run at around 22 FPS, which seems ridiculous considering I have a modern laptop with specs that are way above the requirements.

Does anyone have any tips to get Railroad Tycoon 3 to run at a better framerate in windows 10?

I just installed this game for the first time and it came with the option "Disable T&L on Graphics Device" (or something like that) checked. I unchecked this, restarted the game and my framerate was normal. Maybe it is that?
