I was just wondering if anyone has managed to get Raiden IV to work in Linux using WINE program loader. I tried earlier today and as soon as the intro movie plays, the game screen goes black. If I push buttons I can still hear things being selected, so I assume the game hasn't crashed, just that the screen is blacked out. Has anyone managed to overcome this and if so, how? Thanks in advance.

Judas has had some success with wine 1.9.3 (see post #2 for the link). No movies or anything as he didn't play with it much.
Thanks for the link, sir!
I make it work on linux with playonlinux, it was a tough job, I use the brute force.
I installed playonlinux, with playonlinux I installed raiden with the gog installer.
I had some errors and the installer stucked near the end.
I cancelled the install.
I open the virtual drive and create a shortcut and then I configure the virtual drive : install of vcrun (all the vcrun, as I said it's brutal force not a nice and clean installation with the minimum of needed components)
Within the configuration windows I launched an exe in the virtual drive (the gog installer)
The installer had some errors near the end but go through the end.

Then raiden works without gamepad.
To make the gamepad works I installed a lot of component (all the dx and d3d, directinput).

I think the black screen is due to a failure with the installer (doesn't install al the files at first launch).
When I first launched raiden, I have a splash screen then a movie and then a black screen.
When I ended with my mess, I have two splash screens then a movie and then the menu.
almost everything works except the full screen option wich freezes the linux GUI.
