When I first started playing this game I Didn't have a problem, I tried out all four games and when I decided to focus on a single game I was getting to the four or fifth phase before dying, restarting etcetera.

But lately the game has been completely unplayable. It crashes constantly regardless of the game being played. I can't get past the first or second phase now without it crashing.

I'm fairly sure my comp is up to spec as well, particularly for what is essentially a 90s arcade game.

Pentium(R) D CPU 2.66 Ghz
1 GB Ram, Radeon X800 series video card
Windows XP SP 3

Given that the game gave me no problems early on and since the problems began to occur over only the span of a couple days with no major system changes I suspect the game is at fault. Maybe there's some sort of problem which only manifests over time since I've noticed other people having similar problems.

If I had to place a bet, the crash has to do with the emulator the ROMs are running in. It is possible that the crash originates elsewhere though.

I haven't come across this issue yet but the first thing I would try is to completely remove the game and reinstall it. If the game did become corrupted, it's possible that reinstalling it might get it working again. The game doesn't have any log as far as I can tell which makes isolating the actual problem harder.
Thanks.

Hmmmn. Well I reinstalled and it would still crash all the time.

Then I put it to Windows 95 compatability, and the last few times I played it, the game seemed more stable (no crashes). Not sure if that actually did anything or if its just coincidence. Hopefully it keeps running well.

Yeah, this game's utterly crash-happy. But, given who put it together, that's not surprising. DotEmu isn't exactly known for their superb emulation coding, or competent follow-up patches. The Irem arcade pack is a buggy mess that was abandoned so fast, you'd think it was made by EA. Sadly, this game's just as bad in different ways... and now, just as forgotten by DotEmu.
