I've been trying to get the map editor working also, it complains about DirectX cannot start, all the solution on internet didn't help so far (installing distributives, changing screen settings)
Maybe Support team can take a look how to run editors and deploy some fix to GOG game installation?
To fixe the error "RIP Detected", just install the rom2mapfix from Allods2.eu.

The DirectDraw problem can be fixed on windows 10 setting "Reduced color mode" to 16-bit in compatibility properties.

Steps:

1. Right click on the map editor exe file.
2. In Compatibility tab, enable "Reduced color mode" and set to "16-bit"

Hope this can help you guys.
