You must download "Map Editor Fix" then put your game directory after open and patch it. Now success it, work.

i used this and then the map editor just crashes in the loading screen. anyone got any ideas?
Just upped the so called rom2mapfix.zip to virustotal. Doesn't look good and should be avoided as it triggered 8/58 av engines.

So the state right now is that the Map Editor in ROM2 is broken due to a drm check. Gog needs to fix this.
I had a poke around regarding this issue.

I found an Allods 2 multiplayer site which has a working Map Editor. You need to download the multiplayer client and run the editor from that folder.

Hopfully you read this at some point, I have tried using the editor from allods eu with the client and it still gives me the direct draw not available message... do you know whats causeing this and or how to fix it?
I fixed the DirectDraw problem on windows 10 setting "Reduced color mode" to 16-bit in compatibility properties.

Steps:

1. Right click on the map editor exe file.
2. In Compatibility tab, enable "Reduced color mode" and set to "16-bit"

If the error "RIP Detected" occurs, just install the rom2mapfix from Allods2.eu.
Nice, I will make a thread for it though
