I just bought Rage of mages, but when I launch it this textbox appears with "not optimum mode..." But this is the resolution I have, and it is ONLY this game it pops up on... I cant click anywhere in the box, and after a few seconds the screen goes black and the box starts floating around. I can Alt Tab back.
Any one got any clues to how I can get rid of it and actually play this game?

The control panel for your graphics driver usually has a setting to disable the "not optimal resolution" notification.

It's possible once the notification pop-up is disabled that the game will function normally. It's fixed similar issues for me in other old games.

I attached a screenshot of where to find the setting if you're using an Intel graphics driver.

Thnx, but I have Nvidia and cant find a way to shut down the notification... I figured out from reading online, that many ppl seem to have this problem with old games, and when they get rid of the notification it works fine.
Anyone know how to do it with Nvidia? (IF the problem lies there)

I've read the only way to disable nVidia's resolution message is to use an option that appears on the notification box itself. I also read that the option doesn't work when it pops up during a game.

What i'd try is changing your resolution in Windows to a lower one, wait for the notification to appear, then try using the disable option on the notification box.
