I'm really curious about who owns the Evil Islands IP, or better said, who owns the base game and/or the expansion. And why does the owner of the IP not publish it on other digital platforms? Is the work that GOG did to make it runable on modern systems not to be used on other platforms? Is it that the publisher just doesn't find enough of a return on investment to bring it to other platforms?
From the little investigating I've done, it seems Nival still holds ownership of the Evil Islands IP. Is this right? It's interesting to me why they don't bother bringing it to new systems.
I've been thing about this for some time now, but with the re-release of the modern version of Blade of Darkness I kind of got thinking about other gems that were forgotten. It'd be amazing if some publisher would pick up Evil Islands and bring it to modern systems.
