Just decided to play this game for a while and it seems that there's only two decent ways to make money, neither of which I think is particularly satisfying. In particular, just killing enemies doesn't seem to work well because you often have to spend more money to heal than you get for killing enemies, and there's also the cost of food. Stealing doesn't seem like a good idea, and I don't think you can get interest on deposits until you've deposited a certain amount.

The only ways I could think of to get decent money early are:
* Sell your equipment, deposit all your money in the bank, then die on purpose. You will then respawn with starting equipment and 200 gold, and can then repeat this process slowly building up money. Feel unsatisfying because it feels like you're starting over constantly rather than building up a resource.
* Go to the casino, then play Magic Square, a game that has favorable odds and payout. Feels unsatisfying because you're not really playing the main game while doing so, plus there's the issue of having to reset when luck gets bad (which is time consuming if you're playing the game from floppy disks).

So, is there any other reasonable way to make money early?
