Are Quest for Yrold (or whatever it is) and Tale of Two Kingdoms anything like QFG? Or at least anything like an adventure game in general?
Quest for Yrolg (I'm surprised you got it wrong because the third word is literally just "Glory" backwards) is a short comedic adventure that revolves around stopping a group of adventurers (in other words, it's sort of an inversion of the formula)

Tale of Two Kingdoms is probably more along the lines of King's Quest/Conquest of Camelot/Conquest of the Longbow, in that it lacks the RPG elements... I wouldn't know, however, as I haven't played it myself.
Oh, I didn't pick up on the "Glory" backwards thing. That'll help me remember it
I just played Quest For Yrolg. It's a little short, but for the length of the game it isn't bad. It may seem like there isn't much to it, but that doesn't make it easy. The puzzles are very well done, they had me stumped for a while and they got progressively more difficult. That's how an adventure game should go. Not quite what I expected, although some aspect of it is clearly based on "Quest For Glory," the game is actually nothing like QFG once you play it. The voice acting is great. The music is good. The humor was a failing point, but the "evil" brain was kind of funny. Overall, the game was worth the 3 bucks I spent. The baffling thing is, Heroine's Quest was free. How come Heroine's Quest is free, but Quest For Yrolg isn't? Is there really more of a demand for Quest For Yrolg? If there is, then I'm here to tell you that Heroine's Quest is WAY better.

It was kind of unfortunate that the rock and pool can only be used to kill the Rogue in Quest For Yrolg, but in Heroine's Quest the imp can use that to kill all 3 Heroines (Warrior, Sorceress, and Rogue). That doesn't seem fair.

Tale of Two Kingdoms is a good adventure game with some multiple solutions to the puzzles. Also, there is bit of a morality system to the game and 5 different endings. I enjoyed it but not nearly as good as Heroine's Quest. I think Tales of Two Kingdoms puzzle were better than most adventure games. Actual narrative and characters aren't as good as Heroine's Quest. Tale of two Kingdoms is just okay and not as good as heroine's quest.

One nice thing about Tale of Two kingdoms is that there are some side quests. as well

But if you enjoy waling around talking to characters, picking up things, and trying to figure out where to use things, then yes Tale of Two Kingdoms is fun.

It isn't a full out RPG hybrid like QFG or HQ though.
