I apologize if this question has already been answered, but I can't seem to find anything regarding it. I am playing QFGII (the AGD remake), for the umpteenth time, as a Thief, and I'm on day 14, and a random visit to Dinarzad (and a 20 dinar payment) has resulted in another burglary opportunity. Once again, it's a metalworker's house, who has sons in the guard that frequently come in and out of the house. I've never encountered this before, and the most I seem to be able to get out of the burglary is a few dinars. There's a cupboard with a sack of coins that is "too heavy to take with you." The house is located through the door on the left on the same screen where you summon the door to WIT.

Has anyone else found this? Is it a red herring, or is there a way to profitably burgle this house?

I've attached a picture of the house, if that's helpful. I'm going to feel really silly if this is a quest that I've just been missing for the past few years.

This only exists in the remake by AGD Interactive. It's been a while since I've played it but as I recall, there is a jewelry box you can take on the table. You need to have a lock pick of at least 170 to get into it. Once you pick the lock, you will need to search it 3 to 4 times to find some tangled jewels in it. Use your dagger to untangle the jewels.

Take some healing pills and dagger from the chest of drawers to the right, and then hide. Once the room is clear there is a purse you can take that can be found in the closet on the left. When you take this purse, a guard will come home wanting some money from the very purse you just took. When this guard comes in to search for the purse, he will go back and forth between 2 places to look for his purse. While he is searching one location, you need to put the purse back in the other location, and then wait for him to find it and leave. When he leaves, he will be gone for good (unless you stay in the house too long, but you have plenty of time) and then you can take the money from the purse.

There is also a thing of crossed swords you can take above the bedroom, but don't take it until after the guard has left for good. You will also have to use the rope to get up to it, but climb it carefully. If you fall, you will wake somebody up, and that will be bad.

You can fence the jewels and swords to Dinarzad.
