I've been trying to use the blackjack as a thief now for a while and I'm probably just stupid but I cannot get it to work. It just says 'This is not the time or place for a blackjack attack.' I am in the midst of trying to free villages in that first Rite. It's at night, I'm sneaking, my offense is not terribly high but above 400 -- strange because it doesn't even attempt and fail. Anyone have a similar issue?

Sounds either like your offense isn't high enough or you have been spotted. What else is going on?

It's right after I enter a village and I am sneaking... so i don't think i've been spotted. My offense is 458 now (with the slasher dagger equipped)... still not high enough you think?

Pretty sure that you need to be unarmed to use the blackjack to knock someone out, otherwise the game thinks you are in combat, which is definitely not the time for a blackjack attack.

If i remember correctly you need Offense,Stealth and Luck skills high.
