I've been passing day 2 of the game building up my spell skills, but have noticed that I can't increase my skill with Detect Magic regardless of how many times I cast it. The only exception I've found so far is if I cast it in my room at the inn, which triggers a loss of honor points for breaking the laws of Tarna. Anyone know of any fixes or workarounds for this problem?

In Quest for Glory III, the spell can only be trained when it is cast in a savannah or jungle screen.

I already tried that. I exited the city and tried it in the savannah, and got the exact same results I got a Kreesha's: no increase.
