I downloaded QFG from GOG and played through QFG VGA as a thief with 500/500 points.

But somehow when I imported my character into QFG2, it imports my character as a fighter and I'm given a shield and I am getting points for fighter achievements (ie killing monsters) instead of thieving achievements.

Is there a way to fix my character class, or how do I import it correctly?

thought the game would come pre-patched. the universal updater I downloaded said that all patches were already applied.
