Hey all. So I recently found out about this franchise, figured I'd give it a go. Started up the first game, and I noticed there's two versions. A "VGA" and an "EGA" one. Is there one I should be picking over the other? Any benefits or drawbacks I should be aware of?

EGA is the original, with most commands given through text. VGA has newer graphics, a fully point and click interface, and somewhat clunky dialogue trees.
I would say the VGA version because you need to take notes in the EGA version which is a bridge too far for some players.
Go with the VGA version first, as it is a lot more intuitive than the EGA version.

But afterwards, if you like, try out the EGA version, as its experience is still quite worthwhile.

Note that QFG2 is only EGA, with a "VGA version" fan game made by AGD Interactive under an official license and not included in the pack. It can be downloaded for free, though, from their website. (It being free was one of the conditions for the license)
Ah, thank you all!
