I'm to the point in QFG1 that I have to get the ingredients for the Dispel Potion. I've gotten all of the ingredients except for the green fur. I keep asking the Meep about his green fur and he keeps saying that he has some around here, but then he just stands there and does nothing. From what I understand he's supposed to pick some fur off of himself and then give it to me, but no matter what I do he just stands there. If I change the icon to anything that's not a mouth then he just goes back into his hole. Is this a glitch or am I doing something wrong? Some help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Might be a glitch, can't remember how this works for the VGA version, but in EGA you just had to type something like "Ask for green fur" or "Ask about green fur". When he says he has some around here, he should go to his hole and throw stuff out, including the item you want.

I seem to recall QFG1VGA being rather glitchy. I'd try coming back at a different time, or perhaps restoring an earlier save game?

I unfortunately do not have an earlier save game. I meant to create one and then completely forgot as I was playing. I'll have to try coming back at a different time of day. I had some glitchy stuff with the fairies too. Thanks for the reply.

It's a great game, and a great series though. The only piece of advice I'd give you is to save often, and use plenty of different save slots!

This may be a long-shot, but have you spoken to the healer about green fur? Some things can't be collected until you've selected the related topic when talking to her.
