Is there a way to edit skill points or equipment in the GOG QFG1 game? I recall an edit/debug mode but I can't figure out how to activate it in the VGA version.

Thanks
I'm 99% sure that the VGA version has no edit/debug mode (though it does have a certain glitch that effectively gives you infinite skill points)

However, the EGA version does still have it.
There is debug functionality in QfG1 VGA, but the corresponding script is not included with that game.

You could change skills directly in ScummVM by using ScummVM debug commands though.

Maybe you remember it from the older EGA QfG1. In that one "razzle dazzle root beer" activated debug mode.

After that Alt-K let's you change skills
Alt-X sets all stats to 80
Alt-B let you change the amount of silver coins, that you have

More information on such debug modes, see this page: http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/SCI/Debug_Modes

There is afaik also a bug in one of those games, when you set up the initial skills. It was possible to get a skill lower than 0, which then allows that you assign way higher values to other skills.

so absent hacking the emulator (ScummVM), there isn't a cheat code you can implement inside the GOG version of the game?

I also don't get music just sound effects, I've seen some posts on that but not sure how to fix in Windows 8.
