I ran from the one and only purple saurus I ever encountered because it was my first day. Now I am on day 20 and ready to storm the brigands but I have not seen another purple saurus anywhere! I don't want to lose a point because I didn't kill one!

Anyone know of any way I can find one? Is this a bug where you never get attacked by a purple saurus after you kill a red one?

I spent a lot of time making my hero extra awesome... I don't want to go back to the first day!

There is no penalty for finishing the game without acquiring all puzzle points. It is purely for you to measure how completely you played the game. It is not remembered into subsequent games. I think once your experience passes a certain threshold, higher level monsters are unlocked. I don't know if this causes the game to disable lower level monsters.
Yeah, once you get high enough level, I think the saurus is replaced by the s-rex.
I know there's no penalty... I just really wanted a perfect score. I'm always one or two short even playing the walkthroughs.

Back to day 1 then!
Your title reminds me of how the saurus is green in the VGA version, but the look text still refers to a little purple saurus. IIRC, you can still encounter the regular saurus (maybe not in EGA) even after getting 1000+ exp.

(Getting max points for Fighter means beating up poor Toro though - although you have to - glitches aside; I think you can still attempt a climb with 0 Climbing, and the attempt is what matters for the skip - if you're playing a pure so...)

It's a bug/oversight, yeah. Purple (green?) Saurii stop spawning and are replaced by the Saurus Rex once your experience reaches 1000.

You just have to remember to kill a purple saurus asap =/

If this is an existing oversight, it's possible that ScummVM fixes it. I've fought normal sauruses after hitting 1000+ exp while playing with it.
