Hey all - new to GOG - QFG series is the first I've played from here - used dosbox years ago but have forgotten everything.

Playing in Windows 7 - here is my issue. I launch a game (QFG1 VGA for example and I get a black screen with a disk icon on it. I wait. Nothing. More nothing. I hit enter and I hear the music start but nothing on the screen. If I minimize the game via the windows button and then click on it in the task bar a VERY small version of the game will appear on the screen and I can click around in it but have to run the task manager to get out of it.

I disabled UAC as the support page recommended. Any ideas about what I am doing incorrectly?

I had the same problem. I ran the graphics set up program, switched it to OpenGL and now it works perfect in Windows 7. Good luck these games bring me back!

Alternatively, you can play parts 1 to 3 with ScummVM.

Thank you this worked! It took some trial and error... and error... and error - QFG5 messed up my screen resolution so badly I had to do a system restore but hey we got there!
