Loved this series as a kid - never got to the fifth one. I am trying it out and find the combat, equipment, and movement system irritating. Is it worth slogging through to play the game or should I just be happy with 1-4?

Thanks

The combat is rather disappointing to say the least, but the way it actually provides closure to the Hero's story and his friends makes it worth a try imo. I'd recommend turning the difficulty down to easy, as that should make the combat less of a chore once you get your stats up.

It's more combat oriented than the previous games, and it uses 3d graphics rather than pure VGA graphics which I don't like. However, overall, I'd say it IS worth it. When you get used to the changes, "Quest For Glory 5" is a great game with lots of replayability that brings some nice closure to the series.
Its clunky, but pretty amazing when it came out.

I love the music.. it is so beautiful.

im pretty disappointed on how some of the characters looks in 3d.

But the game itself is good man.
It's alright. I hated the combat emphasis, I hated that ranged combat was almost impossible, I hated that wizards had to resort to cheap tactics to win, and the resolution is rather terrible tbh.

That and I feel like the environmental quality took a bad turn when they were switched from painted to pre-rendered.
