HELP!!! I'm trying to get the berries off the Elderbury bush for the Pie for Baba Yaga. I have talked to Leshy and answered the riddle about the bush, and have already been to Baba Yagas and been frozen. I spent 2 days throwing rocks and casting force bolt with no luck. I can't get the message the I have knocked the berries off! Anyone have an idea please! Thanks!

Did you feed the bush? From what I recall, you have to feed it to be able to get the berries.

First you have to knock a branch off of the bush, then lure the bush away from the broken branch.

The broken branch is quite small, and almost the same color as the ground, so I'm afraid it's something of a pixel hunt. Nonetheless, it may be easier to spot after you lure the bush away from it.

Also, I don't think I ever got a message saying that I had broken the branch; I just saw a cluster of bush-colored pixels fall to the ground.

You don't have to feed it. Knock the branch off with a rock, and run over and take the hit (or Fetch if Wizard or Import). Leshy is not required, as I usually get the berries before I get to town on Day 1.

If the berries are not falling, you might be in an unwinnable glitch. Leave the screen, re-enter, and throw ONE rock or Forcebolt. If it doesn't fall, double check your inventory; you may already have it. If it is not in your inventory, use the eye on the pie tin; it will tell you if you already added them to the pie.

If none of that works, you will have to restart because it is unwinnable without them, but I have never encountered that glitch and I've been routing/speedrunning this game for 15 years.

It should be noted that the elderberry bush apparently has a taste for chicken. However it's not very good at telling a fake chicken from the real thing.

Thanks, I restarted the game, and it was just fine. I'm now having trouble getting the creature in the tree at the swamp in KQ5 but that's for a different forum :)

Throw rocks or cast force bolt at the bush, and the berries will fall off. You may have to do it 2 or 3 times. Then you can either run up to the bush and get the berries, or you can use the rubber chicken to get the bush to move. There is actually a hint for this. When you visit the gypsies, one day Magda will tell you that she saw you using something that was like a bird, but not a bird. That is a hint to use the rubber chicken with the elderberry bush. What? There's no swamp in KQ5. The only thing I can think of that you might be referring to is the dangling participle in KQ6. In which case you need to show him the incomplete sentence that's floating around in the ocean on the Isle of Wonder. That sentence will float close enough to shore for you to get it once you have beaten the gnomes.
