I recently had to reinstall the VGA version of QFG2 (luckily the save I lost was only a few days in!) and I managed to lose my unlocked cheats, and also misplaced my backups: at least I still have my other QFG debug backups. (If Reverend Miller's QFG4 debug files go down I have them archived too for example) Not only that, but the public backup has been made private so I can't just redownload them easily either.

I like playing Wizard's Whirl as a Fighter (Become a Wizard at WIT, then change global variable 3 - your class - to 2 - Magic User - and ask Aziza about games, then change it back to 1 for Fighter and 3 for Thief) and seeing the damage numbers in combat, so it'd be nice to get those back. I'll probably play it extra safe and copy them to my PS2 memory card as well this time... well, not that far, but you get the idea.

I'm surprised that nobody seems to have these at all. Hell, even the hex values for the files would be enough. I know how to use hex editors and all that.

Here you go.

I'm sending you two versions, as I believe they may be different. I've played this game a few times in different ways. Once with the original executable, another time using the latest version of acwin.exe (you need to install Adventure Game Studio, then copy acwin.exe into your QFG folder), and another time using ScummVM. I seem to recall the suck blue frog files changing from one version to another one, requiring me to obtain it again.

But I don't really remember too clearly since it was a while back. Hope one of these works for you!

While I thank you for the help, I'm not really here too often, and that website has an expiration date and wants me to buy these files. I remember that the Blue Frog and Battle Mode files change based not on what executable you use, but what game version. (Version 1 is on archive.org, version 2 is the latest) - the only thing is that until relatively recently newer executables didn't check for those files.

I might just reunlock them myself at this rate.
Well, after all that time, I found my backup installation. It was on - of all things - my 3DS. Naturally, QFG2VGA doesn't work on the 3DS, because ScummVM only packages the AGS engine, it doesn't port it like with the SCI one, but the cheat files I unlocked all those six years ago (damn, for a new fan I'm not so new anymore!)

Here they are, by the way. These files are for Version 2 of the game: the latest one. I can't mark my own post as the solution, so have some free internet points for trying to help, bliznik. Thanks.

I've noticed you updated the relevant wiki accordingly.
But when you wrote "you can enable or disable Battle Mode at will by modifying global variable #495" didn't you mean 496 (as appears in the wiki notes)?

If so, could you fix it?

P.S.
Not sure why the links break.
