I am having trouble attaining the bellows in QFG 2 from the smith. I am a fighter and would like to be a paladin so I can’t steal them. Here is the problem, the air elemental has shown up. I looked at it and then talked to Aziza and the magic shop owner and got the dirt from him. I then went to the smith. I had beaten him before and got money. Now he refuses to ‘waste time with me’. I have tried asking for the bellows and he only says, ‘the bellows are a sign of my trade, what about them?’ I tried to type in wrestle, place bet, bet for bellows and he always refuses me. I am playing the original, the one you type commands in. I have already started the same character again under anther save and starred over, I did not save under other saves and that very well might be a misact. Is there any way to get the bellows even though I had beaten him at arm wrestling before? Or am I truly screwed and need to start over? Like I said I am a fighter who would like to keep his honor by not stealing the bellows (and I don’t have the climbing skill anyway). Please help.

There is one particular way of asking him that will get him to give them to you, but I can't remember for sure what it is. Have you tried "buy bellows"?

As a fighter/ would-be Paladin, I had already beaten Iskur at arm wrestling, had asked about Bellows and told him about the Air Elemental, and nothing happens.

Then, in his shop, out of frustration, I typed "take bellows" and he gave them to me. lol

Unrelated to the problem, but if you ever actually "drop bellows" inside of his workshop, when you return later, the bellows will be back where they were before.

But only inside his workshop. Once you walk back out, they've vanished.
