Curious to know if this release has the same issue that the first did regarding the in-game music.

(edit) Sascha Dikiciyan was wondering about it on Twitter as well: https://twitter.com/sonicmayhem/status/649629152857817089

I have it on Gog now as well, but I haven't installed it yet.
But I wouldn't be surprised if the music's missing here as well. Or will be missing because Gog can't do research for shit.
Yes it has music. At least until GOG if forced to do the same thing as Q1. But ATM I can hear music just fine.

edit: It has in-game music, it doesn't have the soundtrack as separate files, as already mentiond on the game's release post.

edit2: I should have looked better, the music files are there under music folder. As soundtrack are not listed as extra, I didnt searched. But now, checking the game folder, I found them.

_F_o_x_: edit: It has in-game music
Yeah, this was the main focus and it's good to know that, for the time being, it's in there.
Can someone check / confirm if the CD image is provided? Usually in BIN / CUE format.

They aren't there. I didn't find any on the main folder like in Q1.

Ok thank you for checking!
Ehh schucks. This is important to know.

Though I still have never found the intro movie track. Seems there are two tracks for the intro, and are switched at around 2min. timeframe.

The first track is on the Quake 2 CD.
The music from Quake 2 and Ground Zero is included in .ogg form, but the music from The Reckoning is missing.

Everything else is bitwise identical to the install from my CDs, except for references to Activision being stripped out of readmes, etc.

Good to know the Quake 1 "snafu" hasn't been repeated with this release. Nice one, GOG!

The Reckoning just reuses music from Q2 and Ground Zero.

From Readme.txt of the Unofficial Quake II Patch 3.24:
To hear Ogg Vorbis tracks ingame, rip the Q2 CD's audio tracks (2-11) to track02-track11.ogg
and put them in baseq2/music. For the mission pack audio tracks, rip the Ground Zero CD's
audio tracks (2-11) to track12-track21.ogg. Don't bother ripping the tracks from the
Reckoning CD, as they're a mix of the tracks on the Q2 and Ground Zero CDs. Everything else
will be taken care of internally.
If you´re still having issues with Quake 2 music, download and install Quake 2 with this version (includes CD with incorporated original AUDIO TRACKS + second CD with Quake 2 and Mission Packs OST):

Some people talk about the .ogg sound files solution and that seems to be a workaround as well, but thankfully I came across the previous download, I don´t really know why ID Software made this so complicated in the first place, or maybe new CD drives don´t support analog output to the PC (as I read somewhere) and that´s the problem, Anyway, enjoy !
