AmethystViper: So much butthurt over a remaster... [smfh]
Why do you even post here?

Go back to reddit.
right now both games are on Steam discount ..... easier to buy for 5€then wait unlimited time

Neurus_Ex: this version has been abandoned by the developer, thus it should be delisted.
"I did not get the free update for a 20 year old game on this service, therefore it should be removed from this service for everyone."

What exactly is the logic here again?

Not giving Bethesda any more money and also not approving their behavior to ignore every customer that bought the game on this game store.

You are free to not give Bethesda any more money. I am also not giving them any more money by refusing to buy the game on Steam a second time.
But removing perfectly functional original DRM-free Quake? I'd rather just get "ignored" by Bethesda than what you people are calling for.

I am a customer of a product that has not been kept up to date with the versions other stores are selling. I did not get the update only because I did buy the game here, as other people who bought that 20 year old game in other stores did got the update. BTW, it does not make a difference when the game was released.

The logic behind my proposal of delisting the game has nothing to do with me not getting the update, but with the latest version not being published here. GoG is selling an objectively inferior version, is not going to get the update (That's my theory, at least), so it should be delisted, because it could lead customers to get the game thinking they are getting the latest version.

Also, now that I've mentioned, happy three months without any news anniversary! I guess that to celebrate, Quake has been finally added to the list of games that treat GoG customers as second class citizens, so at least the knowing customer can learn about that before dumping money here.

This comes out as overentitled as it gets.

Go back to reddit.
Assuming I even have a reddit account. Also I'm not the one who's holding L's here.

So just because you and the entitled snowflakes and petty clowns/trolls here are not getting the remastered version of Quake here, that should justify depraving every customer of the option having Quake on a (mostly) DRM-free platform and think it should be removed? Yeah, first world problems much? You wanna know who else doesn't have the Quake remaster? Epic Games Stores customers don't, so it's not just GOG that is still up in the air with this remaster. I've also said it before in this thread, other than needing a Bethesda-net account for the online multiple (which has been a fun experience in my opinion) and getting the free curated add-ons, the Steam version of Quake remastered can be DRM-free legally (via the steam_appid.txt trick) and the Bethesda-net store version of Quake remastered is also DRM-free. You're free to not buy it on Bethesda's platform or Valve's, you can spend your money however you like, but don't think for a second that the world revolves around you and think that GOG (or some other digital distribution platform) should pull a game off stores because a store is slow on getting a free update the other stores got.

Precisely.
"This restaurant doesn't give out free dessert like that other restaurant! Close it down immediately!"
It's fun to see how many people has suddenly sprout to point out that I said GoG should delist the game for not being updated while ignoring everything else I wrote.

I don't get what's with the fanboyism towards GoG here, where we (as a customers) have been getting screwed on this game. Someone is asking for GoG to say SOMETHING on what's going on? Let's rip on him as a group because through several posts he said a thing we don't like, let's take it out of context, and bash him for complaining about yet another game that is not getting an update in gog because, eh, huh... I don't really understand why someone would put so much effort on defending a company.

And yeah, complaining about updates on videogames is as a first world problem as it can get, so what? If me complaining is something you don't find interesting, why are you wasting time answering to me?

Anyway

I can't find quake in all the weeb edging trash on steam. Guess I'll let the old version sit in my gog's games list shelf for eternity. Probably only play it for 10 minutes anyways till I found out there is no nudity like the other stuff.

This might be shocking coming from NEET, and I doubt anyone like yourself would take this advice, but do you know what grass is? Maybe you should just step outside and touch some grass sometime.

Doubling down on the personal attacks. Nice. Real nice.

If you don't like people criticizing your own behavior for suggesting that GOG should remove a game over a free update the other platforms got (and still not on another platfomer that it opened up to) because you're being overly entitled for all the wrong reasons, then either learn from your mistakes or get out, simple as that.

Anyway, as I was talking a few pages ago as an example of delayed update well managed, Ion Fury 2.0 finally released after one PR person coming to the forum to give some feedback to what was going on. Not the best option, but still streets ahead of what is going on here (Or what is not going on here).

Also, in the thread of "things released while we waiting", there's a new update for the amazing Alkaline, as well as two map packs on quaddicted (Somewhere and Ravisod) which have pretty good reviews but I haven't been able to try yet because I'm way too busy with the amazing Ashes Afterglow for GZDoom.

Links here because for some reason I can't seem to put together several links, lol:

https://www.quaddicted.com/reviews/tonswsp1.html
https://www.quaddicted.com/reviews/ravisod.html

There is also the Haloween Jam (Which was covered by the map pack and a new Quakespasm Spiked version out.

Btw, AmethystViper, I'll stick to just ignoring you. I thought the time of the flame wars and low effort attacks was way behind me and I plan to go back to that.
