chansmith: I agree, this has really hurt GOG in my eyes. Their lack of feedback on this forum says that too. Maybe only buying old games that can't be found anywhere else is the only thing GOG is for.
Imagine being such thin-skin that you have to inform people on your internet profile. Go cry back to Valve if you're this bent over something that is not in GOG's control, and stop trying to twist the narrative that you're the victim here with your earlier posts .

Well, as we approach two months and no news on anything coming to GoG but more flames and silence, the Next Gen Consoles already have their version.

And as usual, to keep us entertained (and to give some good news) a few weeks ago a new jam map pack was released, SMEJ Jam: Quaddicted and func_msgboard have it covered for you:

Of course, if you are here chances are that you are playing Quake with Quakespasm, maybe Quakespasm-Spiked, that released a new version last week. It even have full compatibility with the new(s) campaigns of the enhanced version (sans the dynamic lights and all that).

DarthCrunchus: Have you ever stopped to think that the reason that GOG hasn't said anything is because they themselves haven't heard anything? Stop and think before you say stupid things.
This is usually the case. If you don't hear from a company's support team, they aren't ignoring you, they're probably busy pestering someone else so they can send info out.
Oh cmon, the enhanced version has not still come out on GOG. LOL. I think Bethesda just lied.

Never insult me again you got it? How about you think before you say something stupid.

You know I could care less about what you think of me. Your rude comments only show how you are.

I see that bad emotions rise once again in this topic. I kindly ask to refrain from any personal trips and advice to remain civil during the discussion. If the situation won't settle, we'll make a decision to close this topic, as the circumstances here are on the edge not for the first time.
Meh, I'm glad I own Q1 on both Bnet (from a giveaway last year) and Steam so I don't have to wait for the update.
Still want the GOG version though even if it's just for the lossless soundtrack.
Well, if you have already the lossless soundtrack here on GoG, just use the tool from Hansschmucker here from gog

https://github.com/hansschmucker/CueToOgg

the files should be usable with the KEX-Port then....

I've done that as well since I was gifted the game on Steam but what I did was use an ISO program (ISO Buster in this case), ripped the uncompressed *.wav files for each campaign, then used oggdropXPd to convert the uncompressed music files to q8 (256/kbps) *.ogg files since the remaster used q8 quality music anyway to get an in-between music quality and file size compression. That and most of the source ports I've used usually support *.ogg files anyway with the exception of Mark V which only uses *.wav or *.mp3 files.

Hey everyone, happy two-months-with-no-news!

To celebrate, just wanted to mention that Quakespasm Spiked dropped yet another update past week (Talk about keeping the development going on, right?), and to remind you to keep your eyes peeled for the probably upcoming haloween jam map pack later this month!

We should try to get together on some sourceport to blast ourselves to pieces or something to celebrate we are the last in line for the update, right?
high rated
I just cannot believe we still have no news about this.
so why is there radio silence from gog? when will the update arrive here?

maybe it's not worth the money for them to make it? i am losing my hope
Well?

ReynardFox: Well?
Nightdive is slow with updates on Steam so I couldn't imagine they'd be any faster here. I doubt it's their fault, as they're probably bound by contract to do numbered patches or something similar. We're just gonna have to be patient on this one. One thing though is I bought this on Steam just for the release and I mean this could've been so much worse....it's really actually awesome and has brought new blood into the Quake Community. So at this point I'll be happy if we get anything at all here at any time.
