I recently purchased Quake 4, but upon attempting to launch it, the game never fully launches.

I check my task manager, and there is a process running for Quake 4, but it's only using up 2MB of system memory, which I know isn't right. The game never fully launches. The process simply remains running until I kill it.

There are no pop ups or errors associated with this issue.

I'm on Windows 7 running DX10, with a Core i7 2600, 16GB DDR3 RAM, nVidia 1060 w/6GB VRAM.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Use this link to Quake 4's PCGamingWiki page:
https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Quake_4
Now, scroll down to the "Issues Fixed" section and click the link called "Quake 4 Tweaker". The tweaker should be what you're looking for. Make sure to read the instructions and all of the info. Download the tweaker and make sure to follow instructions. Hope this solves the problem. Good luck!

I appear to be having the same issues. If I attempt to run the exe TWICE, the game launches. This requires me to either run it from explorer or from the command line. Any ideas would be appreciated. I have tried all the fixes. Compatibility modes, admin, various .cfg files, etc... They all make no difference. The application does not start up the first time. The second run, however, does in fact work.
