Attension GOG,
Please have the game with the Yamagi patch. Offers full support.

Don't see that as being better or worse than anything else.

I started the Reckoning, got to the sieve area and my saves got messed up. So I put the Yamagi files into my folder, and then the game launched but the saves aren't there! Then I saw GOG support giving two files to patch the problem, I re-installed quake 2, put those files in there, and then guess what- the game says "these saves are from an older version".

It's 2019. Gamers shouldn't have to deal with this garbage in this day and age. We shouldn't need to mount CDs or whatever to get the music for these games either. Steam, GOG, Bethesda, whoever- needs to fix this garbage. Or just give the game away for free.

That said- I'm pretty sure a store can't just start selling a third-party mod like Yamagi.

just cus its 2020

does NOT mean this isnt a persistent issue.or shouldnt be.

you need to take into account the legallity of those contents you are requesting.

not only that but its like if you think you could do better then DO IT!

also gog could sell Yamagi with its copy of Quake 2 had they gotten permission from its creator 1st. again tho that all comes down to legallity issues.

its no fun seeing people join these communities with these IDEAS of how it should be by now when its like you should be well informed as to what era software your stepping into and have a more open mind and not be so closed minded and expect sum software over 30+ years old to magically be out as if it is a current game.

I mean well lemme correct my rant there.

you want Quake 2 and its expansions to run like modern games without mounting or issues with music?

go get your copy of Quake 2 RTX. wait...you may still needa find the music files for it but hey ya wont have to mount anything.

sheesh.

as if that isnt pretty much the same thing as any other source port

Music, whatever I played without it. It's dumb that it's missing, but I've only it a problem with Quake.

But corrupted save games, that's not down to performance, it's down to unresolved bugs. And why are there still game breaking bugs on these expansions? Corrupted save game is a big no no. If this happened with any modern AAA release people would be screaming bloody murder.
As always - RTFM. Nuff said.

GOG didnt update broken build, but released correct patch dll's on support site. Use them and start game\exp from launcher. There is no any problem than.
