I installed the 3.24 unofficial patch and got the music to work in Quake 2. The game was still running in a window though, so I installed Yamagi and copied the music folder to baseq2.

The game now runs great in full-widescreen, however the music doesn't play unless I activate randomisation and even then I have to constantly go back and reactivate randomisation otherwise it stops playing after every track.

If anyone knows how to resolve this issue I would appreciate the help.

Yamagi requires you to rename all the tracks to:
02.ogg
03.ogg
04.ogg etc... otherwise it doesn't immediately recognize it.

Thanks. That solved it!
