vorob: Where i can get these fixed dlls?
At the sites of
Yamagi Quake 2 or
KMQuake II. Some old webpages mention an archive of fixed dlls for the original executable, but I haven't encountered that ominous zip file.
vorob: I have no problem with original quake 2, quick save works there fine.
Why i have to do this anyway? Isnt this gog work?
There is no official patch. ID released patches for the base game after the release of the addons, leaving the addons unchanged.
ID decided to use native dynamic code libraries for the game code. This brings some problems, especially in coop mode, because the game code can crash the game. IDs way of implementing save games was really fragile as well. Everything was focused on speed rather than stability.
Yamagi Quake 2 fixes a huge amount of bugs even in the baseq2 game code. They've reworked the way the save system works, so you should be able to use your saves between different version (at least on the same platform; i.e. you can't load Linux saves on Windows).
