This game is very old, teh Steam versioons is only 55mb, watahell!

I may be wrong but, check your installation folder and notice this three files:
game.gog
gamea.gog
gamed.gog
Are the ISO images of the original CD-ROM of Quake and both expansions, those images includes the music. Thats why I think.

Edit: The Steam version does not include the music in any form. While I'm not a huge fan of the expensions' music, I love the original soundtrack.
