Some of you probably already know this, but since Quake Enhanced was released on GOG, it's a good idea to post here that an unofficial mod that implements ray tracing into Quake 1 has been released. It even has a cool feature to switch the renderers on the fly with the "f" key, so you can easily compare the differences.
It's a work of one person, the same which brought us Serious Sam and Doom with ray tracing effects. The modded game runs good (of course given the fact that ray tracing is implemented). I haven't noticed any fps drops with DLSS set on Quality on RTX 2070 Super. Generally the game looks better than the RTX mod for Doom. The lighting is quite impressive for such an old game. Here are the necessary files and installation guide:

The mod is based on a vkQuake sourceport and it supports both standard Quake 1 and Quake 1 Enhanced. You should give it a shot, if you have the necessary hardware. :)
