It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

For those struggling, so far this is how to set it up.

1. Install Quake 2 (I bought mine from GOG but just realized it came with my Quake 4 disc, eh never mind)
2. Download latest version of Quake2xp
3. Extract contents of Quake2xp into the root directory of Quake 2
4. Find the folder inside Quake 2, called alsoft > install > please click and install oalinst (if you do not already have OpenAL installed)
5. Launch Quake 2 like normal from the desktop icon created from the GOG install

On a side note
A. Personally I turned off motion blur as I didn't like it
B. The music works when you set Music Source to "Soundtrack Files" (I didn't need to paste the music folder into baseq2)
C. Try comparing OpenAL vs Generic Software for the sound. I cannot tell which is 'better' per say, personally I think Generic sounds better, but I'm assuming OpenAL is the 'original'.
D. I also think the music does not repeat when using OpelAL but does when using Generic Software, not entirely sure, but I need to just play / test it a bit more.

Is there a way to play online using Quake_2_Server_Browser? Or another method?
It seems that the servers are not compatible ....
